TUTORIAL ON FONTS: How to download, extract, and use these files!
Step One: Find a site that gives away fonts for free, unless you'd like to pay for them. We have a few sites linked at the bottom of the page you may want to check out also! After you have chosen the font you would like to download, follow the process in the picture below: Click Download, according to your operating system i.e. Windows or Mac.
Step Two: Click Save & Chose Your Location. Example: if you have a designated folder such as a 1-FONT folder, or if you would just like to save to your desktop. I am going to create a 1-FONT folder on my desktop.
Step Three: [this does not have to be done] but as I said in step two, I created a special 1-FONTS folder on my desktop! This is what it looks like [see below]
Step Four: **IF IT IS NOT A ZIPPED OR COMPRESSED FILE** simply skip steps 4,5, & 6!!
**IF IT IS** a ZIPPED/COMPRESSED file... NO PROBLEM! go on to step 5
Step Five: Right Click & Select Extract All Or Extract File Or Extract Here! [all of these options will work!] if you have more than ONE file in the folder, and want to extract ALL of them, its easier to click Extract All rather than do them each individually.
Step Six: This will now make a separate folder **UNLESS** you clicked Extract here, then a new file will appear in the same folder. Now, you make sure you have that window open and keep it there!
Step Seven: Click start, then click my computer! Next double click the local disk drive C: a.k.a. (your computer's hard drive). This may open a new window!
Step Eight: Once you are in the Local Disk C a.k.a. the C Drive Folder, Double Click the WINDOWS FOLDER!!!!
Step Nine! The FINAL STEP!!!! Now that you are in the WINDOWS folder, Find the FONTS folder, OPEN IT! REMEMBER that folder with the true type font that I told you to leave open? well if you lost it... FIND IT haha! we need it again! You now click and drag the true type font into the FONTS folder you just opened through the C drive.
Now - You can open programs and use that font! YAY!
